Hi! I am so delighted you found my website. I have been working in the mental health field for over a decade and it has been my greatest honor to witness so many amazing journeys. It was my own experiences of growing up in an alcoholic home, struggling with mental health, and coming out as queer that led me to this work. For this reason, I am passionate about supporting people in living their best, most liberated lives.
Below is a little about my professional training and experience:
Formal Education and Training. I have a master’s degree in Counseling Psychology and Expressive Arts Therapy from the California Institute of Integral Studies. I am trained and licensed to provide individual, couples, and group therapy. In addition, I have post-graduate training in gender-identity counseling and sex therapy.
Experience. I have worked in a variety of settings including outpatient services, college counseling, residential treatment, and community-based programs in the states of California, Oregon, and New York. My experience has been with young people and adults living with challenges such as mental illness, work/educational stress, difficulties in relationships, ASD adaptations, coming out as LGBTQQIA2+, and issues related to oppression and power dynamics. The primary focus of my work has been on issues related to gender and sex/sexuality. License. I am licensed under my legal name, Lydia Dean Seright, as a Marriage and Family Therapist in the states of New York (#001488) and Oregon (#T1013) and am certified as a Master Addiction Counselor (#512049) with NCC AP.
